I’m James from the United States and I’ve been living in China for three years, originally I lived in Yangzhou where I met my beautiful wife. I love living here and teaching the exceptional youth of China. I’m a language learner and enjoy both learning and teaching, and I believe that in order to teach well it is important to be a lifelong learner and student yourself. One of my favorite things about being a teacher is to encourage young students to enjoy the learning process. By immersing in native level content and getting to communicate with an adult who is proficient in the target language, new words and structures in English are more memorable. Giving students the opportunity to acquire natural spoken language and pronunciation is also an integral part of my teaching methodology; if you can say something and pronounce it correctly and at native speed, you’ll have a solid chance of hearing it.

我是James，來(lái)自美國(guó)。我到中國(guó)已經(jīng)有三年多了，起初我居住的城市是揚(yáng)州，正是在這座小城，我邂逅了我美麗的妻子。我很享受在中國(guó)的生活，覺(jué)得能夠教授優(yōu)秀的中國(guó)孩子是件意義非凡的事情。我本人也是一名語(yǔ)言學(xué)習(xí)者，堅(jiān)信教學(xué)相長(zhǎng)，也明白要想當(dāng)好一名老師，自己必須堅(jiān)持終身學(xué)習(xí)理念，這一點(diǎn)對(duì)于我和學(xué)生都頗為重要。我熱愛(ài)教師職業(yè)，總是鼓勵(lì)年輕學(xué)生要學(xué)會(huì)享受學(xué)習(xí)的過(guò)程。我認(rèn)為當(dāng)我們沉浸于母語(yǔ)環(huán)境中，且經(jīng)常與精通英語(yǔ)的人交流，這會(huì)有助于我們記憶英語(yǔ)中的新單詞和句式結(jié)構(gòu)。在我的教學(xué)方法中，一個(gè)很重要的原則是幫助學(xué)生練就純正自然的口語(yǔ)和發(fā)音。如果學(xué)生能以自然的語(yǔ)速、準(zhǔn)確的發(fā)音表達(dá)出自己的觀點(diǎn)，他們的聽(tīng)力能力也就不在話下了。
