My name is Adriana. I was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. My father was an architect and my mom was a teacher. They raised me with my three older sisters. When I was a teenager, I was very involved in sports. I won the state title of Synchronized Swimming and the Brazilian National Title of Swimming. Later in my life, I decided that I would like to help people, so I studied Speech Therapy and worked with kids that presented cognitive issues.

I moved to Canada in 2009 to start a new life with my husband. A few years later, he was offered an English teaching position in China. During that time, I had the opportunity to use my Speech Therapy skills to help his students to reduce their accents. I immediately felt the call to become a teacher which made me return to university and pursue my teaching Credentials from the University of Windsor.

After teaching in very remote regions of Northern Canada for a few years, my husband and I decided that it was time to return to China. I have been living and working in China for the last six years. During that time, I have taught English, Drama, Sociology and Career Development. It has been a fantastic journey. My husband, my two dogs and I love this country very much. We want to stay here until the end of our professional careers and make a difference in our students’ lives.

我是Adriana，來自巴西里約熱內(nèi)盧。我的父親是建筑師，母親是教師，在他們悉心培養(yǎng)下，我和三位姐姐健康成長。年少時，我酷愛運動，曾獲得過花樣游泳比賽州冠軍、巴西全國游泳比賽冠軍。長大成人后，我立志助人，開始學(xué)習言語語言障礙與矯治課程，幫助存在認知障礙的孩子。

2009年，我與丈夫移民至加拿大，開始了新的旅程。幾年后，他獲得了來中國教授英語的工作機會。我便隨同他前往中國，并利用所學(xué)的語言治療知識幫助他的學(xué)生改善發(fā)音。也正是在這段時間里，我感受到了成為一名教師的使命與責任。于是我決定返回校園，在溫莎大學(xué)攻讀教育學(xué)學(xué)位。

畢業(yè)后，我和丈夫遠赴加拿大北部的偏遠地區(qū)執(zhí)教，數(shù)年后我們決心回到中國。過去六年間，我一直在中國工作、生活，教授過英語、戲劇、社會學(xué)和職業(yè)發(fā)展等各類課程。于我而言，這是一段奇妙的旅程。我們夫妻倆以及我們的兩只狗狗都非常喜歡這個國家。未來，我們希望繼續(xù)留在中國直至職業(yè)生涯結(jié)束，同時也期盼著自己的付出能給孩子們的人生帶來積極的改變。
